We had a good Race for Life volunteer contingent at Mote Park for their obstacle 5k that took place on 7th July 2019. We were asked initially if we wanted to get involved by The Mote and of course we were very happy to oblige. A really good and surprisingly tiring event (for the marshals) and hopefully we will be there next year.
“The Face of Mote Runners”, Liane Foord, again made her way into the Kent Messenger for her age group win in the Mid Kent 5 miler on 14th July. Liane is in a rich vein of form and is the one to beat!
We also had our first 5k Handicap race. This was the idea of Mick J who kindly offered to organise the event. It took place on a “Club” night and worked out very well with Kevin winning.
The beginners 0-5k has been ongoing each Thursday with Dave B leading. His reputation is growing in leading these types of courses and he is one of the best around.
We also had a Kings Hill Trail run early one Saturday morning followed by breakfast at the pub. This was the idea of Dave and Maria who live nearby and it’s something we would like to repeat if anyone has any suggestions of good locations. Mote Runners will travel! A very sociable run and good fun.
