It’s been a really good month with great use of Mote Park for our runs which have ranged from 1 mile to 10k and at varying levels. There has always been a volunteer back-marker on each club run as we know it can be quite intimidating if you’re not one of the fast runners and we don’t want anyone left behind.
We have also been quite lucky, lots of Tuesday “Club” evenings we have been able to sit outside overlooking the cricket pitch for post run drinks. It’s a lovely setting, you can’t really beat it.
Lots of things have been going on.
The 2nd handicap 5k run took place on 6th August 2019 and again was a big success with Tim being the overall and well deserved winner. Thanks to Mick J who again organised this competitive but fun club event.
On the coaching front, the 0-5k has continued each Thursday evening and we will be replacing this with Mote Beginners sessions starting in September. In addition, and whilst there is still some light available, hill sessions have been taking place each Thursday with Suzanne. Also, as an added bonus, Dave Brooker took a speed training session at the club on a Tuesday “Club” night as an alternative to the main club run.
You may have seen our new hoodies being worn by members. These are available in both zip up and pull on are available; ask Suzanne if you’re interested. They look great and are good quality, warm and comfortable to wear.
